Rich as rob said defiant mps he is a one man band who makes some serious bits of kit and is copied by alot of the mainstream companies he normally has a 6 month waiting list and only use high end materials he won't copy anyone elses products
I do love a bit of tench fishing and I'm enjoying more as I fall out of love with carp fishing the idea of linear and the like are just not me even the local club waterso are the same all the gear no idea stoner/plonkies who most probably aren't even bothered to try just get high
Wow I went on...
Hi guys what tripod do you recommend for the rivers the only one I seem to find is the korum one
Or do don't you even use one
I'm looking to get a new one as I'm using a beach one at the moment problem is there not small
Make more time to go or should I say effort as I do think I have enough time
The problem for me is its a 80/90 mile round trip to the ribble from my house so it's not just nip out for an hour especially with the cost of fuel
Thanks Mike I did notice awhile back when I bought my 5000 there was a big difference in price between them
I did manage to get a decent pair of gte c a couple of years ago for the princely sum of 80 quid thought that was fair but looks like there going for silly money the 5000
Haven't been not been doing this barbel fishing long but most probably would have
Hats of to the angling club they seen a problem and they have delt with it in my opinion the best way possible and if it continues they can then narrow the problem down to club members as well wether it was done...
Thanks Mike for that I do have spare spool I think I normally have them for every reel I have
Like I said I'm a horder lol
Most probably sell them and buy myself a new river tripod being using one of my beach casting tripods which is fine but because it's set up for multi use the fixed spool...
Thanks gerry that's reasuringto know all I want is strong reliable tackle for a reasonable price in will look into them dragon washers I think I will also get them a service to ensure there fine for a few more years
Reliability is hard to come buy now in a through away society I'm not a fixer...
For the sake of £20 just replace it maybe use it as backing line on some big pits as for that just bin it
On my big pits I normally use it for 12 months then back it of on to another spool for 12 months then bin it on shallow spools justhe bin it after 12 months
Thanks for the reply Joe it's not about the money aspect for the reels I just want to keep which set is the better reels the xtea where bought to replace the gteb then I noticed they were a bigger spool so never changed them over
I am a self confessed tackle holder don't drink don't smoke come...
I am keeping the xtea Richards reply decided I was leaning that way but with Richards comments and yours gerry my mind is 100% made up
2 x 6000 gteb going for sale lol any one know what there worth
Yes think it is the spool size the xtea is 50 grm heaveier than the gteb I actually forgot I had the xtea found them in a bag today getting some gear ready for a few quick evening trips
