Still not sure if I am reading this correctly. Are we saying that it is an interesting discussion, but never likely to have anything to do with playing a fish, because we do not play a fish with the rod locked up !
I use the same thing from Bank Tackle. Just pull the knot in the bag into the narrow end and job done. If I'm using a hair rig, then I also nick the hook into the lower end of the bag.
Stephen, did you buy direct from Drennan or through a tackle shop. If the latter your complaint should be directed to the shop. They sold you a product which is faulty. They should replace or refund and then they have the bother of getting redress from Drennan.
Fantastic Rich. Are you using your home made boilies as bait or something else. Also do you loose feed anything or is the rivers pace to fast to do this effectively.

Rob, got my OC's from guys on here. I prefer the OC over the D as the spools are less blingy and new spare spools were only about £15 when I got one a couple of years ago from Johnson Ross.
