What are your targets for the new season?

Last season was pretty successful, beating my Loddon target of 10 barbel. Want to double that this season, hopefully add a 17+ too. Lost a big long 25+ river common after a long fight so would love to have another chance at that. Barbel from the Blackwater after a break of a few years, any size...

    Collingham aa

In some way I feel quite lucky that the rivers I fish have hardly any barbel left which equates to far fewer anglers. Can't imagine booking swims....... Give me a small, overgrown river anytime (preferably without the smell of skunk 😁) Steve

Best swim on the best river .

Mine has to be the last swim on Upper Benyons on the Kennet. Early 90's when there was no fishing on the opposite bank, big downstream overhanging willow.......rolling meet into the roots.....and Bang! Steve

    Bulk halibut pellets

I've been given a very good price for skrettings coarse pellets from my local animal feed place. I've asked him to find out how much the Halibuts are. Not sure there is much or any difference in price??

    Centre pin advice please ?

Very surprised no one has mentioned the more modern Marco Cortesi or TFG centrepins. More than adequate for ledgering and very reasonably priced. Steve

    Bait screws?

Hi all, After losing yet another hair needle this week, I'm thinking of trying bait screws rather than a conventional hair. Having never used them before, I'm after opinions on pros and cons. Will be using them for boilies, most likely mounting the screw on the hook shank via a couple of hook...

    Folding landing nets

Exactly what I was thinking 😂 Also wondered how deep the mesh is. I'm currently using a Greys spoon which has a lovely deep mesh but can be awkward to handle. Steve

    Landing net strap?

Hi all, Got myself a lovely deep net which I'm really happy with although it's a bit unwieldy when moving between swims etc. I have been using elastic bands to hold the mesh against the handle but they are prone to snapping. Is there anything on the market designed specifically for this...

    Reel experts?

Hi Richard, Stripped the handle out as you said and found this.... Removed the debris of what looks like some sort of broken locking washer and all works fine now. Do you know if this is something I need to replace? Steve
