    What are the chances?

I once caught the same rainbow trout on consecutive trots through the swim (trotted maggot). I know rainbows aren't credited as being the einsteins of the fish world, but was still quite surprising.

    Aldi bib n brace

It's not just the size you need to be wary of. I bought a pair of 11s (I'm a 10) and the left boot is uncomfortably tight across the top of my foot, so they'll be going back :(

    Muckboots sale

Got mine today, thanks for the link :) Quality boots but far too big around the calf unless you have legs like Billy Vunipola. The laces should solve this but are a complete waste of time. Will probably send mine back :(

    New rod/reel question

I have the 11' version of those rods and use Shimano DL4000FAs which seem to match well. I use 10lb line with them, nice rods.

    A rod for my boy...

That TFG All Rounder is a nice little rod & very versatile. I'd probably go for a whip / margin pole though, depending upon the size of fish likely to be encountered.

    Stranded fish

Good call Paul, I found around 200 fry left high & dry on the middle Severn today in one dried out puddle. Doesn't bode well for the future if this is repeated along the whole river :(
