Just looking on the Haiths website - given the discussion about Robin Red on an earlier thread - saw reference to Meal worm/Meal Worm Crumble - has anyone every tried it - meal worm as a hookbait maybe or added either the groundbait - if so was it worth the extra expense - did you use it direct...

As long as you use a feeder or lead weight on a running rig - so it moves up and down the main line - you won't leave it attached to a barbel - if it snaps on the mainline the lead will end up on the bottom of the river as the barbel will pull the line from the lead - if it snaps on...

I am sure i have got one of those somewhere Dan - along with a couple of Mitchell Match - to be honest they were my dad's but i can't say they have been used for 15 to 20 years...i'll ask my mum if she has still got the gear - if we have you can have...

Had a walk of some of the stretch yesterday - very low and clear - not many seemed to be catching but mate and I had a large number of chub and upto 10 barbel feeding..... chub in other stretches appear to be spawning still??
Moved onto another stretch to start my season - 2...
I realise not all of you will have ever fished the Dane but mates and I normally travel to the Teme etc
