Pineapple - other fruit flavours for barbel

Jeremy - was that on their own or in a snowman with another bait?

Pineapple - other fruit flavours for barbel

Ian - ASAP is slightly cheating as it is a fruit/ fish blend !

Pineapple - other fruit flavours for barbel

Yup neon yellow - but I am fishing in the dark and in the case of last night in very coloured water so I doubt the visibility factor came into play

Pineapple - other fruit flavours for barbel

Was out last night on the Thames and not for the first time this season I caught a barbel (well two actually) whilst really setting my stall out for carp. I tend to fish two rods in the swim - both baited with 'snowman rigs' which is typically a Monster Crab Waka bottom bait topped with a...

    Ebro catfishing

Have been with Catfish Capers a few times and always had a good time. April is a good month to go.

    Rigmarole Hydrolink

I was put onto it by a fellow WBC member and I used it for all my Thames fishing this Autumn and loved it. Seems pretty bullet proof and def sinks v. well and gives a true combi effect of stiff vs supple, as you have discovered though it does need steaming though.

One for the bite alarm using heretics

Silly old lightsiders - Always underestimating the dark side of the force :D Seriously though the snag ears (although rather shiny and sexy :p) do serve a purpose in stopping your rods going for a swim. Particularly important if youre afloat: Custom extra long MPS Defiant on the left...

    Tench

Thanks Simon - The top fish was 9.08 and I had couple of 8's and the smallest fish I had was 6lbs I think. I am no expert on Tench sizes but judging by their average sizes on the bank and then looking at them in the water I would say that the big one was ................ much much bigger :D

    Chub

Have to admit I hardly ever fish for Chub intentionally and they tend to happen along as a bi-product of carping or barbeling but I thought I would let you in on something. Look away if you dont like blatant plugs :p Get on the Monster Crab Waka from Spa Baits - Chub adore them! I...

    Tench

Thanks Michael - they dont really get fished for in this lake so they are in mint condition. Can also confirm what Mr Berry says that the Waka does seem to attract tinca's quite well as I have had quite a few by accident while carping. Have to say that, as much as I love the Waka, it would...

    Tench

Ahh I cannot possibly imagine why a thread about Tench fishing is quite so appealing on a day when I walked to work in driving sleet cos the tube was knackered  I have big plans for some Tenching this year - an occasional trip on the '60 acre' with some of the other WBC but mostly...
