Just was presuing the forum, first time in a while and saw your post, sorry for the late attempt at being helpful Warren. I actually had my adaptors made by Ron Chant and I do have a set of over the counter adaptors that a friend sent me which will work fine as he is currently using them...
Thanks for all your help guys and alternative suggestions. Thank you Bob regarding the youtube channel, I do rather enjoy making the videos and sharing them across the platform with everyone. I still cannot understand why Drennan discontinued the sink braid, I was told by one of their chaps that...
Hello chaps,
as you know Drennan sink braid has been discontinued, I was wondering if any of you might have some stocks squirreled away that you might be willing to part with (sell).
Hello Neil I'm not too bad thanks for asking, hope all is well with yourself. Yes I would concur with those thoughts, obviously though that depends on the quality of bait and other factors.
I find a decent bait/base mix will keep on catching though, almost up to a point that it is as if the...
Sorry for the late reply Neil, I have only just recently seen your post.
As Ian correctly states I used to use West country baits a bit, mainly the slick sense boilie barrels and paste, caught a few on them and found them most reliable. From a customer service point of view Shaun was always very...
Coming to the BFW home page to see John holding that lovely fish, only to read the very sad news of his passing is on its own very sobering. Despite being a Loddon regular I never met John but we used to chat regularly over social media about our trips on the waterway and a real gentleman is how...
Thanks guys :) . I did do a little (rather large) jump for joy when I slipped the net under her. She gave a cracking scrap and took me on a bit of a cabbage patch tour. Nick you're right she is a long fish. I had a slightly larger fish off the Loddon at the weekend, but it was much shorter and...
Thank you for the very kind words chaps, that smile is firmly etched on my face, it was a very special fishing trip. I have also double checked the scales and they are reading accurately. Just a very long fish which has a very broad build to it, I certainly would think it would be well over 15...
Hello Justin,
I cannot speak for the Drennan handle as I have never used one, however I have owned and used the Gardner handle for a few years now and it has been very good and is rather stout, it could perhaps be a little lighter in my opinion, but that is only a minor negative.
Thanks chaps, glad you enjoyed the video, both the barbel were in beautiful condition and fought like demons. I haven't posted as much of late, as have been fishing for a few other species and have been enjoying wetting a line on the Blackwater, such a wonderful littler river, packed full of...
Another vote for the Gardner, I have been using one the last couple of seasons, nice length and re-assuringly strong, albeit more chunky compared to the Drennan, although 440g doesn't seem a lot it does feel a tad heavy, or more so when at a full extension (top heavy perhaps?) however it is very...
Totally agree,
saying well deserved would be an understatement, such superb catches in some very difficult conditions and with great regularity, very well done Keith.
