    How did everyone’s day one go ?

    First trip yesterday on Hampshire Avon, 4 chub and a small barbel, not pleasant in the hot conditions and suffering for it today. River desperately needs some rain and I need some cloud.

    I use alarms all the time for the safety of the fish, you can't watch the tip all the time and if you are looking away and a barbel takes off it could find a snag and become tethered.

    They suspect that the birds died from Avian flu as they have found swans and other birds dead in the harbour, latest is the police are not investigating the deaths. Not good news but better than human intervention causing the deaths.

    Can tell it's old Graham as Christchurch is now in Dorset not Hampshire, changed counties in 1974, doesn't seem it but over 50 years ago.
