How did everyone’s day one go ?

First trip yesterday on Hampshire Avon, 4 chub and a small barbel, not pleasant in the hot conditions and suffering for it today. River desperately needs some rain and I need some cloud.

    Alarmed!

I use alarms all the time for the safety of the fish, you can't watch the tip all the time and if you are looking away and a barbel takes off it could find a snag and become tethered.

What the hell is wrong with people 😡😡

They suspect that the birds died from Avian flu as they have found swans and other birds dead in the harbour, latest is the police are not investigating the deaths. Not good news but better than human intervention causing the deaths.

    Car boot buy

Can tell it's old Graham as Christchurch is now in Dorset not Hampshire, changed counties in 1974, doesn't seem it but over 50 years ago.

    Car boot buy

Consulted our centrepin expert and he says the spool is placed on spout for casting and put back in original position for retrieving, used for pier and beach fishing.

    Shouldn't

Stuart I can make an educated guess as to who the dapper chaps were (one of them a club bailiff), cane not for me but each to their own. Like the original mini great car but would I prefer to drive around in it or my wifes new countryman , sure you can guess the answer.

Official beaver wild release announced. Thoughts

Beaver dams can legally be removed if they are less than 2 weeks old, another daft rule from the EA, just make sure you check your fisheries regularly: " One such non-licensable action is the removal of dams less than 2 weeks old. Beavers build dams to retain water and create an aquatic refuge...
