Not too much I can add here (as a fellow Rother angler). Yes it’s an incredibly difficult river to fish for barbel and you may well go through a hell of a lot of blanks ( and I do mean a lot) before connecting with one, but the rewards are there. 🤫😄

A true Hampshire Avon & Dorset Stour legend - bumped into him a number of times in the 80’s and 90’s on both rivers. RIP Martin.

Sad news but totally understand Paul. Todays barbel fishing is nothing like you and I experienced on that lovely Kennet stretch at Rainsford Farm all those years ago before the otters moved in. Good times mate but sadly never to be repeated. Keep well Paul and all the very best. Ian

Can’t go wrong with a Rapidex - have used them for 40 years in my barbel fishing (I ledger only), quality pin that has easily coped with barbel in excess of 16lb. Highly recommend this pin.
