I'd agree with Dave, action dependant. There's probably a rule of thumb with carbon rods though. With bamboo fly rods its round the rod up to the nearest whole feet and add one i.e. 6'6" rod would generally have 8 rings plus the tip. Adam

Ah, I thought it looked like the Fal! I've caught a couple of smaller mullet on the 'fly' - albeit a bread fly. Still not cracked them on a more traditional immitation. I think you could catch them on a telegraph pole and they'd still have your heart beating! Cheers Adam

Well done George. Was that on the South Coast? I love catching them in Cornwall, incredible fighters! I've all but given up on the ones in the Severn estuary near me. With the amount of hours I've spent watching them swim around my bait it would be more cost effective to drive to Dorset...

Optilabs for tackle tarts?!? I don't know about that, when I bought mine 4 or 5 years ago they were the cheapest place I could find a pair of polarised prescription lenses that didn't look too ridiculous! I think I paid around £130 at the time. A lot of money for sunglasses, but, at the time...

If you need prescription lenses I can highly recommend the Optilabs range. Had mine for years now and they've definitely helped me catch more fish! Cheers Adam
