Why Korum, why?

Some clear winners for me are:

Folding quivers
Mk11 graphite brolley
Bolt n run kits
Mk1 roving chair
Day pack
Butt screw

I’m not really loving the direction their heading in at the moment by putting pictures of fish on flasks, lunch boxes etc.
maybe they are running out of ideas.

Something I’d quite like to see but no one has actually attempted to produce one yet, that would be a dedicated single rod quiver/outfit.
Not just a bloody sleeve but an actual good system for the single rod user.
Something well thought out and designed to accommodate a full time single rodder that might want to take 2 bank sticks and a small brolley.
It should really have some form of reel and line protection and thought for big butt guides in mind.

They should allow you to tighten the quiver up afterwards with some form of all around strapping system.
Sometimes we don’t want to take a brolley but the option is nice
We don’t want a half empty quiver flopping around in the wind either. It would be lovely to be able to pull it tight around whatever we carry.

I'm surprised how many like the bolt and run kits, I found them very poor, the bead pulls off the swivel before the run ring releases off the bead in my experience with them. I switch to the Fox/OMC tulip type beads that do the same thing. I have since seen Atomic do a version that you can have either free running or semi fixed without having to re-tie which looks good.

Strange… I’ve not had that happen myself, always the ring gets popped off the lug.

When you were pulling it all together did you ensure the anti tangle sleeve was pulled inside the bead. It’s quite easy for it to appear right and not be quite snugged up correctly

I've used them ever since ade kiddel in vented and showed me how to use them, u must ensure the anti tangle sleeve, isn't pushed tight over the qc swivol, leave a good gap to let the swivol work.

The swivel doesn’t need to work on that rig. The hook link doesn’t need to spin or rotate at that point at all.
The swivels one and only purpose is to provide a quick changeable point to attach a hook link to. The rig works much better imo with everything snugged up properly

We used to do the same snug tight up with the anti tangle sleeve also pulled into the bottom of the tulip🤣, until we underwent the wrath of Ade🙄 who also invented the original version.
He said that you need to leave the thin metal swivol inner exposed as not to impair the anti tangle properties of the rig, not only in the water, but when in flight too.
Before that we used to call them, massive tangle rigs🤣🤣🤣.
Ade did not like that lol.
He was very defensive of korum.!!

I get virtually zero tangles using these the way I do….I think a lot of tangles are from either not feathering the cast or not reeling in at a constant steady rate.

I’ve been following a few Korum product FB posts this week and noticed that any negative feedback is immediately taken down. This latest feedback caught my eye, so I took a screenshot and sure enough it didn’t last long. Most companies seem to take negative feedback on the chin.

IMO, it’s terrible PR.

I can see the use of this net holder thing, it can be useful when you resting the fish in the net, not necessary, but can be useful some times.

That’s not useful feedback of any particular product though, just someone slagging off the company in general. Maybe Korum could have replied, but then you have to weigh up whether it’s going to just end up in a pointless internet argument. If it’s genuine criticism of a product with useful feedback, then fair enough it should stay.

I was talking about “new products that are so called, game changers” with some very experienced anglers some successful and some not so, and we could only think 💭 of two, that being, open ended and block end feeders and the quiver tip which is just a more refined version of what came before, Other new inventions (products) were already available in one form or another, The rest we all agreed just caught more anglers than they do fish! 😁 korum etc when all said and done are in the business of catching anglers after all 😉

In terms of modern products I would put sonar technology adapted for the angling market (depth/fish finders) up there as a significant ‘game changer’ ….controversial maybe (so we’re swimfeeders once) but an innovation that has probably been responsible for many big fish captures, especially large reservoir pike.

Completely correct.

Try catching the big perch in some of the large reservoirs WITHOUT a serious sonar set up and you will struggle. The same logic applies to zander and pike on those waters.

My (shared with a mate) sonar cost £1400 a few years ago and now it is totally outclassed by the current stuff !
