£50, do they know what they are selling...On the advice re XTEA 5000 on here had a look on local for sale site and found a twice used XTEA 5000 for £50.
Do you think that's a good deal?
The wife thinks I have too many reels...wimmin eh?

the XTEA has a better bail arm.I have never owned a 5000 xtea but in the tackle shop a few years ago I one in one hand and a 4000D in the other. I chose the 4000D over the xtea for a mulitude of reasons and still happy with it. Some of the reasons were a bigger spool, great drag and imo a better baitrunner system. Anybody out there had the opprtunity to make a comparison?
I'm in the same boat. Need a couple of medium reels mainly for feeder fishing, but would like the bait runner option. I've looked at Okuma V2s and already have a Penn Live Liner in the giant size. You can get the smaller 560L version from ebay.de for around the same price as the 5000RE. They would suit anyone whanging heavy feeders across big rivers. Metal spool and bullet proof build.
In the end I plumped for a pair of 5000RE's simply because I already have two that I am very satisfied with and the spare spools that come with the new reels will add to the versatility.
That's my trouble Bob can't bear to part with any gear, I think yep I can make a few bob on that and just store it and occasionally look at itif i was you neil i would buy all what he as got cause there real cheap mate if you want to earn a quick profit ill give you £100 for the xtea
picked up 2 penn liveliners in the 460l size for 120.00.......bargain ebay
will replace my 5000 gte's
Angledomaene by any chance?
Reels seem to be cheaper in Germany than here in France and the UK even allowing for postage.
However, my local Decathalon has some Daiwa Crosscast 5000 at 61 Euros and Daiwa Opus Bull 5000 at 70 Euros. The car needs some work on Wednesday (yes, the garage is open on Boxing Day) so I'll pop in for a browse as the seller has cancelled my order for two new 5000 Aeros due to running out of stock.

Make sure you see the Crosscast in the flesh before buying. The number might suggest that it's a similar size to a 5000 sized Baitrunner, it's not. It's a smallish "big pit" reel but it still lives up to the name. IIRC the Opus Bull is in the catalogue as a sea reel. I suspect that it's a similar size to the Crosscast.
no....some ebay shop called polehill1....both brand new 120.00 uk shop too.
well chuffed as mates have paid around 90 each in some cases......![]()
Cheers. I'll have a couple of hours to kill while they fix the wheel bearing.
Don't want to worry you, but there are no 460l reels showing in eBay competed listings and the seller you mentioned only has the 460, i.e non bait runner type on sale.
