Why bother joining clubs or sydicates

What a shame
I,ve just sat here reading these few pages and quite frankly ,can,t believe what i,ve been reading ,ive been a member now for a good few years and have met some great charactors along the way ,sadly a few have moved on and away,but still a good few faces remain,first real friend i made Simon King and if i,m correct was a bailiff at the time went out of his way too introduce me too fellow existing member,s and help put my first barbel on the bank after what seemed months of aggoniseing blank,s .Oh before i continue please excuse my poor spelling and grammer.And now we have Steve,the head bailif you,ll know him cos you,ll alway,s hear him coming from miles away he,s the loudest man i,ve ever met ,and too be honnest what you see is what you get with Steve ,i think he,s trying very hard too do all he can with the help from other member,s such as Tony ect,whom i meet frequently night after night clearing spot,s litter picking ect.I have taken barbel from the greeb hide in the bottom car park right through too the very last swim,up the top end ,as Richard said ,introduce some good quality bait into a few areas you fancy and i think you,ll be rewarded, if you ever bump into a guy called Ginger Kev, don,t tell him nothing or you,ll never get your swim he,s a total poacher ha ha sorry Kev,love the wife,s cake though ha ha .Tony don,t know if we,ve met but i,ll keep me eye out for i,ve alaway,s got a flask of tea in the van you can alway,s vent your anger mate .TIGHT LINES LADS.

The anger has long passed,
I really do not care that much that individuals put in time at their own leisure thats their personal choice.I am happy to attend work parties but I do not have the time to stroll around a river bank every evening,I have a day job that more than takes my energies,I have not asked they do it for me.I paid my money & I joined the Consortium hoping to get myself,youngest son and grandson on to the river,at the time of my complaint it was evident that persons were factually fishing on throughout the night.Denying me and everyone else to fish known goer runs.
Is that fair???A recent raid has I feel proved my accusations.
I asked a few anglers what was going on and some chose to make comment and some chose to remain quiet some said there were no problems.
I will be doing a meet and greet this weekend so I will take you up on the brew if you are there.Im the THE FAT OLD GIT in the Black range Rover.
I am also willing to not use the venue in the future if those that are so offended are willing to have a whip round and reimburse us our monies

We can all have a smile about this when I come down, I like people who care and clearly you lot do.
From what I can see as an outsider the consortium is a good idea, it has certainly made it a little bit easier for the visiting angler. I hope that no one minds another fat bloke from up North coming down from time to time.
I'll speak slowly and with a bit of arm waving and pointing we should understand each other eventually.
Tony I take it that the Lea (Lee which is it?) is a good winter venue then.

Don,t worry Conrad about the accent mate you ain,t met some of the member,s yet, ears muff,s is what you,ll need, talk some of em cor .If you don,t do much fishing i,m sure someone will try and sell you something ha ha .

Tony's right Conrad, come the autumn weather the fish will spread out and the river (Lee) becomes much less "swimmy".
"Lea" refers to the Navigation (navigable sections) and the Flood Relief Channel.
Not that anybody cares. Heathens.

As they say it is probably wise to wait a few weeks, October should see the start of the better oppertunities.
If you give me the heads up I will come along and meet up/fish with you, having visited "up norf" several times and having a "norfen munkey" in my family I am more than capable of speaking the lingo, an interpreter might be useful for your trip from the northern wastes!
As for tickets I would always suggest a VAC ticket as it will give you 5 sections of the Ouse 6 miles of The Ivel and 2 sections of the Upper Lea!
(Simon I was always told it was The Lee below Hertford and The Lea above?)
From (I think) October we do a half season ticket, I will have a word and see what I can do (there must be some advantage to come from being Vice Chairman).
As for the comments on this forum, I applaud the interest, as has been said a forum is for free speech, I am interested in ALL comments and opinions.
Steve is my head bailiff, anyone can contact him, I am available, either on here or The VAC forum, The Association of Barbel Fishers forum or by e-mail and my phone details are available on membership and bailiff cards, OR if any of you feel that you need to go to the Secretary of member clubs or to The Consortium Chairman Doug Howells then by all means do so, we are happy to get any and all input!
We are a new consortium, we do some things well and others not so well, we need to know what you like and what you don't, our intention is that of constant improvement, there have been quite a few new swims built, we are looking into re-stocking and doing something about the Crayfish, however Rome was not built in a day, we will do what we can with the limited finance available to us!
One thing we have in spades is passion for the fishery, I shall try and use every bit of that, I shan't waste a drop!!

Keith it's November for the 1/2 price tickets mate and its too far away Also I may have to go to Brentwood again for work and I'll stay down there. I thought I might have to go tomorrow but thankfully that was cancelled leaving me free to do the charity do on the Trent.
