Hi everyone,

It amazes me how many different tackle companies there are out there producing terminal tackle. For someone trying to run a small online shop, it's impossible to stock them. I'm curious to see who are the favourites on the scene at the moment.

So, when you're in the tackle shop/website, which brand do you generally prefer?

No one brand for preference. I tend to buy a mixture of Nash, Fox, Gardner, Drennan/ESP and Solar. Depends on the exact item as to which brand I might prefer. It can also depend on the availability of a particular brand. I do like a bit of the Solar stuff but I have to make a special trip if I wish to get hold of the odd bit and bob that I might require.

As Chris has already said no one brand, my tackle box has all the above in it with the exception being solar....I also have a few you haven't mentioned like Nash and John Roberts.

A combination of all of the above and more.

Specifics -

Drennan (ESP) Hooks and Link Clips.
Nash Trigga Link
Sunset Amnesia
Kryston Incognito
Korda Shock Leader and Grippa weights
Bulk Buy (100) sea fishing barrel swivels - size 10,7 & 5
Rubber Beads

As weird as it may sound depends which river I fish however I mainly use Korda safe zone terminal tackle, but I do have a mixture of all sorts I don't really tend to choose a brand I just choose the best tackle for the job!
Drennan super specialist hooks, teflon rapier, korda kurv shanks
Esp sink link, sunset amnesia, kryston supernova
Korda braid needle
Korum Luggage
Esp bits bag
That's Just a few bits I have in my set up!
Regards

Hi men,

Bits from all above , but special mention for Guru lead clip system . Smallest on the market , good colour , really neat little swivel , I have packs of them !.

Andy, the new Ace range is well worth a look, mimicking Korda in many ways, Max Cottis' new venture.........some really good stuff

Not really thought about it before, but strangely enough just about everything is Drennan. :)

I'm mostly Drennan, never let me down yet. I know not all of it is terminal tackle but it struck me whilst Perching the other day that almost my entire set up was Drennan - Tench Float rod, float fish mainline, loafer float, fly leader fluorocarbon hooklength and super speci hook - with a drennan 22'' net and twist lock handle. Vote for Drennan from me.

I've been using Gardner hooks recently for barbel and chub, they're very good too.

Suffix coated braid, Kryston heavy metal putty, Korda weights, Terminal wise everything else is ESP/Drennan ...... have they ever made a bad product ? ;)

I think their stuff is totally naff Ian...I use it all the time and catch nowt :D:D

Seriously though, I think Peter has been doing a fine job for a very long time supplying all us madmen with a vast range of very serviceable and innovative equipment....don't now where we would be without him.

Cheers, Dave.

Think most of us buy from mixture of companies as I dont think one does everything perfect , its what makes me laugh about sponsored anglers on company dvd's were they only use that company but what makes me laugh more is some anglers see the dvd and actually believe everything they see and hear and go there local water and copy everything exactly and then wonder why they dont catch they just cant think for themselves

carp r us good terminal tackle and the clearwater flourocarbon was the best for me.been using their short shank nailer hooks for years with total confidence.

Have to agree with you Ian regarding Drennan, usually most of my terminal tackle is a combination of Drennan and Gardner.
