Hi Andrew
Yes defiantly interested, have you just one?

I only have one of those but I also have a
Fox Barbel Duo Floodwater Rod 11’ - 2.75lb TC ARD009. Comes with Fox 5oz & 7oz Carbon tips + Fox 4oz & 6oz Glass tips. Rod still has plastic coating on the cork handle & is in excellent condition also having seen very little use. £95
If you wanted both I would obviously combine the postage

Absolutely Superb rods those older olive green duos and getting rarer by the day. The quiver pocket on the velvet bag was a nice touch. I had the 1.5Tc 12 footer with twin tops. Kinda regretting selling it tbh as it was a beautiful blank with a proper players action.

Sounds good would it be possible to collect in person at the weekend Andrew?

There great rods as I remember, bought 2 brand new in the early 2000’s until I foolishly sold them years later. Still kicking myself...

My first barbel rod was the 1.5lb 12 foot version. I loved it and was very sad when someone stole it from my garage. I still use an 11ft 1.75 duolite for most of my small river fishing. It has become very much part of me over many years. Great for touch ledgering and rolling as well as on a rest. High quality gear.

Yes no problem I will PM you my contact details

Wanted fox barbel duo the old school green ones with the criss cross weave on the butt section. Ard model 006 in 12ft preferably 1.75 . If any one knows of any for sale. Links or a dm
Thanks
Hi mate, I hope you got the rod you was after. I have a 1.75 and a 2.15 duo plus and they are the ultimate rod. I would even say the 1.75 is better balanced and plays fish better than the flood rod. Iv had mine for over 10 years .. I need to re seal the cork handles if anyone has any tips for doing it.

Best tip for re-sealing cork handles is to not re-seal cork handles.

Cork should be left to breath, so to speak, and this is why handles are always left in the white and unfinished when you buy rods new. Varnished or oiled cork looks ghastly, trust me.

Best way to clean the cork is with a green scourer pad (the dish cleaning type) and soapy water. Oxalic acid will bleach out any stains and crud but is toxic and requires neutralising and unless the handle is absolutely filthy then probably unnecessary.

Do the Fox Barbel Plus rods have a following,? I rate them, but I guess the twin tops make them less versatile, but the green blank is so retro, and the blank is excellent. Never used a Duo, but they certainly are sought after.

I think they are quite desirable Neil but good examples are hard to come by.
I see them occasionally for sale and they don’t fetch much due to some twit dipping the top section in white paint or the quiver section has the first six inch snapped, missing bags etc etc.

a very clean complete one can fetch very good money indeed.
The duo lites were the generation of rods after the plus and they seem to be sold more often and in general better condition.
I certainly don’t think the duo’s were better rods than the plus’s, there was a much bigger range of them mind.

Cheers mate, I have two plus rods, one is used and other is as new. Both bought from members on here btw...the quiver top is orange tipped, so I guess that is why some paint, I use plumbers tape. The rod makes for a very good medium feeder rod.
Up late due to buying digi camera...if you can't spoil the missus at Christmas, when can you?😔
