probably pushing it a bit but ok in shallowish water on smallish rivers, fine for waggler work though.

I've used mine for Tench and they're great. I've also ran a stick down with them, just to try it
BUT my go to rod for smallish water barbel with a roving approach and float fishing for tench is my much loved Daiwa powermesh avon 11' 9" in 1.25lb, rocking horse poo though!!

It has all the looks of the Powermesh, same t.c length handle etc, so I am wondering is it justified all the hype over the Powermesh, or are they that much better to justify the asking price of £170 in some cases?
Just checked again Bob, it actually is a Powermesh, and the model is PMXS 119AV. Also labeled as a multi strand graphite. Bought it a few years back as new, never used it, but I can confirm it bends to the corks. The thing I didn't like about the rod is the end tip screw fitting that as you will know any tip worth it's salt is a push in.. .I know Drennan did do a screw tip, and I have a couple but they are useless. However if you say it is a robust rod in it's own right, perhaps it a perfectly adequate small river barbel rod?
Split cane avon rods perform in a similar fashion , they bend dramatically but soon tire out some suprisingly large fish , not very good at slinging out heavy leads long distances though ...
Don't know if they still do them but there is a 12ft, 1.25lb test Torrix called the Chris Holley Rover ( I think there were a range of them ). An attractive rod which should meet your needs if you can find one but expect to pay top dollar as it's a limited edition , I know I had to for mine !

Edit, the rod I believe you have is the PMS111, this I think is the sought after one, but not 100% sure.
Thanks for that Bob, actually I am a bit surprised at that model being the sought after one. Daiwa do their level best to confuse with their model numbers. I will keep you in mind as far as selling, I do need to cut back some gear, it is in great condition with no marks, and original Daiwa bag.
