Thames rod

I use 1.5’s I actually bought a pair of 2lb rods specifically for the Thames about a year ago, haven’t used them. Love my 1.5’s.
I fish the lower Thames by the way

Depends entirely on conditions, and how far and the weight you're casting, Barbel wise... ( considering I use a 2oz quiver when feeder fishing bread mash for Roach or Chub, ) ... anything from 1.5lb TC to 2.5lb TC, The happy medium is entirely your choice, I've got a Harrison Torrix with twin tops of 1.75lb & 2.0lb built by Bob Gill, it's ideal for any situation that I'd fish in, but then I wouldn't want to punch 8oz 50 yards into a raging torrent if you get my drift ! ( pardon the pun ) ! 😄
