Tench 2022

Back in the day mates and I caught a lot of very big tench on cockles (from a Kent pit). The frozen un pickled variety.

previous to that swan mussels were good. We dragged them out of an adjacent cut.

Ive caught chub and perch on prawns, but never tried them for tench.

These days I’d fish worms if I wasn’t feedering maggots.

Need to avoid pesky rudd so worm prob not viable.
Will be sure to try some pink peeled ones soon.

Well I’ve not been out much lately, what with work commitments and various ailments.
But on Thursday managed to get to our local club lake again for a few hours.
Id made some new bait and wanted to give it and go.
I managed to tempt 2 tench, 2 carp I lost 2 bigger fish to snags, that’s fishing for you my son lost a nice tench at the net.
Here a couple from the afternoon not monsters the biggest going 4lb3oz
