Spawning ?

Saw a 9lb ish barbel taking insects of the surface today ace.

Numbers of barbel, and chub, gathering in the right areas on the Goyt, not actually spawning yet but shouldnt think it'll be too long now.

Also came across a group of chub that appeared to poking their heads right out the water and actually taking flies out the air. Anyone else seen chub doing this?

i,ve seen lots of chub gathering in good numbers in certain area,s which all seemed to be actively feeding on the bottom and off the top, saw severel come right out of the water taking stuff on the top, havent seen any barbel as of yet
cheers

Just back from a walk along my local (and famous / infamous on the old BFW) River Pinn. Astonishing sight. Fish of between of 3 and 9 (maybe even a 10-plus) going at like good uns. Tiny river, too.

3s to a suspected 10-plus?

Yes.

Inches.

Dace.

Ah yes the fabulous River Pinn never ceases to amaze. They have even been at it on the Medway revelling in the sunshine.

Regards

Hugo
