The Wye in Hereford could just be train & walk, if I'm not fishing too far out of town. Train Leeds to Hereford is less than 4 hours, and the walk to the river isn't far, so so you won't be fishing any sooner if you drive. Then buses from Hereford took me to plenty of other spots down the river last year.
Hi Dan. Me too on a new bit for me on the Warks Avon. Good Luck.
Me too Graham, but will target mud pigs in the Wavon first couple of weeks, then maybe lower Severn for barbs once the mad rush is over.
Plenty of those in there Mark, had one myself end of last season.
It's the Severn for me to start, I'll probably split my time this season between Lower Severn and WA.
Yes John plenty carp in the river, caught a few over the years, particularly early season before they wise up.I think I will leave the barbel alone on the Wavon this season, the numbers of big fish have dwindled significantly on many stretches,so I've joined a syndicate on the lower Severn that allows after sunset
I'm in two of those now. Never kind to me though, the Severn.
Yes Mark and John. Quite a few carp in my new section. I will actually try for some roach but put a boilie rod out as well. Seems the perch and zander grow big also. No pictures will be shared
Also joined a group bit of the Lower Severn that I am familiar with (well the other bank)
Leaving that late August probably or when couple metres on.
Good Luck both of you. Hope to bump into you alo g the way.
Don't say that John, after the spring I've just had, which was spending loads of money on natural baits and casting endless feeder loads at GHOST tench.I need a bit of gentle encouragement and enthusiasm on your part, tales of bite a chuck double barbel and aching arms on the lower
