Rod license due Tomorrow

Mine arrived this morning too :)

Got mine today, and my fishing buddy did too.... so hopefully you'll all get yours 2moz :) :) :)

Hi men,

For the £45 I paid I'd like it hand delivered to my swim :D

TBH as its on my phone , and in over 50 years of angling of never ever having being asked , I'm not worried if it turns up or not .

As Diana Ross once sang: I'm still waiting.....

And I thought that buying it by Direct Debit was supposed to ensure that you received your licence in good time for the new year! Fortunately not an issue as I don't fish in the close season apart from a crucian outing in late May so I would like it before then if the EA can manage that please....:)

Again chaps you don't really need a paper licence do you? All you need is the verification that you have paid. I would have thought the need for a paper copy is way gone in 2017, personally if it cut down on cost and meant the money saved would be ploughed back into Angling, that would be better, surely?

We no longer have paper tax discs on our vehicles do we? That money saved ensure our roads are kept in top condition, the same could apply to the Rivers.

Hi men,

Yep , I laughed out loud at the roads being kept in good condition , cracker Neil .

The lane outside my cottage looks like Isis have been practicing their road bombing skill , we dive on third world roads , and once you have driven in France you will realise that . I was on my way back from fishing in France , and a sign said Orleans 125 miles , I put cruise control on set at 80mph , and genuinely never needed to touch the peddles , but in fact did to overtake up a hill , and I'm off to do it again in 4 weeks.

Neil,

That would be fine if angling wasn't still living in the dark ages. We still have club books (or cards or the really go ahead ones!) and paper day tickets, so do you really think that we can move to virtual licences? It has taken many years and major investment in technology for the move to virtual road tax licences and that will never happen in angling. Indeed, given the ongoing complaints about EA spending (or lack of) on fishing, would you really want them to pour millions of pounds into a virtual licensing system?

It was a bit tongue in cheek David, but thinking about it I don't really know if there would be any extra actual cost involved in on line registration and verification .I would say it would be pretty clear that some cost saving would be achieved in not printing/ posting 'cards' and of course the extra admin in all that. The problem is that those without a computer would be a problem, maybe we could have a choice?

Mine turned up yesterday. After removing it from the inclosed letter the dog decided to eat it. Wonder how long a replacement will take
