Yes you can still renew at the Post Office as before. Just keep your receipt with you when fishing until you receive your license through the post.

That's great news John, good on you, hopefully they will do as they say and refund, perhaps there is more protection with card payments. These scum play the percentage game, some if not most will slip through.

If you have bought a licence and are waiting for it to come through they would never prosecute you for fishing without it.

A quick check by a EA baliff over his radio would confirm you have payed and they'd leave it at that.

I all ways get mine from the post office , I get sent a reminder from the EA when its time to renew . The post office scans the reminder and my new licence comes in the post

Following the debacle regarding online applications I had to ring the EA yesterday to inform them the licenses for myself and son ordered on 26th March have still not arrived.
They have reposted them and should hopefully arrive in the next 10 days.
