Roamer chair or similar

On the forever quest of scaling down and travelling as light as poss, I've been looking more and more at the cotswold roamer chair/shimano stalker seat type folding chairs. Does anyone use one, and how do you find it?
 
Doesn't look very versatile to me, and frankly you are sacrificing comfort I reckon. I have a few chairs and all seem a bit bulky and heavy for roaming, except for one I bought on a whim and it is a brilliant little stool, the 'Shaky' with backrest.
No good for sloping banks but very good on level pegs and folds up into my net bag.
Not very 'carpy' in looks but the upright position is well suited for ledgering / touch ledgering with the rod butt on your knee.
£25 approx. and well made.
 
Go out doors do a chair that only weighs

Only 4.45kg

Highlander do a similar seat to the Cotswold roamer and its only £15 so not much wasted if you didnt use it

That Highlander one might be a good shout, just to see if it's actually usable. The idea seems great, but reality might be different. It's a shame there's not many light weight chairs available now. That korum one looks good but pricey, regret selling my original Nash nomad years ago
 
I use this one from Shakespeare. It also means I don’t need to carry a rucksack. I think they do one with a backrest as well.

Sorry yes, I was being a bit thick there for a minute. I have used mine for a few seasons now and also tried the Nighthawk version with a backrest but found it a bit heavy so went back to the Shakespeare.
 
Wychwood are releasing a new range of specialist luggage in the near future. I'm not sure if this will include a decent lightweight chair?
So many otherwise good lightweight chairs are let down by the front legs not adjusting long enough for sloping banks. The JRC is a nice, comfortable and very light chair but the legs don't extend anywhere near long enough. I have the korum aeronium but though the legs extend to a decent length it isnt very comfortable! I must have atleast 4 chairs now. None really tick all the boxes.

Oh, and another thing. The material on the seat of the Korum job ripped apart at the seem after I'd only used it a handful of times! I am not large! For a chair costing well over a hundred quid for the reclining model that's simply unacceptable!
 
The picture is a hint at the new Wychwood specialist chair. One of the guys field testing was saying that the legs are longer than normal on the front (?) and the new rods are a “bit special” (although he would say that!) lets all hope they get it right from the start (or maybe not as i really dont want anymore gear! 🤣)

I've been using the nash indulgence ultra light for about 5 years now,very light and comes with a built in carry strap👌

This is what I use as well Steve, I am quite a lump and it does a sterling job of holding me up, a more stable footprint than it's counterpart with the back rest. ( I've used both )

I have recently bought one of these as well. Havent used it yet on the river (just on stillwaters) but it is light and more versatile than my existing Korum Aeronium,
The Korum is a shade lighter, but sits very low compared to the Nash, which is much easier to get up off.

An addd bonus is that the Nash chair also fits on the clips on my Korum Rucksack.
