River tripod recommendations

I am also getting the river pod from Defiant MPS.
I've gone with auger all round.
Currently asked for 8" and 7" bars - Does that sound a bit narrow?
I'm using BR25As which are bulkier than most 5000 sized baitrunners - 7-8" rears will be fine and I prefer a decent splay so tips have clear separation. I like my reels close(ish) but its also easier to pick up either rod whilst remaining seated and close to rods on day sessions . . . being an OCD carp angler I'm also anal about bail arm roller / handle positions always being the same so they never clash when tight on a buzz bar (habit from using 3-4 rods on pods etc)

The fantail sound's like the pod for you then , but if you were to need any mods just chat with Keith, he's very accommodating.
I'm having a tripod built as we speak, but have gone for 32" legs and a digging stick with glow head, that Keith has made to be used as a stabilizer with the tripod , as I'm a belt n braces chap , and like my tripod's to stay on the bank , in case of any miss flicked on baitrunners.😵‍💫
That stabilizer sounds interesting Jim - how does it work / clamp on? Are you negating the rear bars as I was planning on using the auger on the 'spine' and a bungee around the rear bars to secure the pod down

The stabilizer is Keiths own design, but with a 20 inch digging as the spike which will fit at 90 degrees to the main shaft, for a bit more stability and security, I'm still having a butt rest for my cups but like these well off the ground.

Can you order separately / how much was it?

Have you gone for the longer legs, if you're having a bottom buzz bar? At 22"
Keith designed it for butts on the ground, but I feel this is still to short especially with a buzz bar at the bottom.

Prologic Sky Pod sturdy pod that has served me well. If I am fishing anywhere rocky where I can't get the legs buried then I tie something heavy on just to prevent the whole lot going in if it's a savage take. I have heard it has happened to others, so don't take chances. The only downside is you can't keep the front legs attached and fit it into the bag supplied, which would have mean't setup was a little bit quicker.

It is a shame that the images do not show the tripod with rods on it - It would make it easier to judge how well it will work

Interesting man is Keith.
He’s going to work on something for me
Thanks again for the heads up

Yeah, I measured my latest korum pod, approximately 68" fully extended and the Defiant pod is woefully short at 39 " fully extended , that's with 3" in the ground, that's why I went for 32" which will extend to 62".
Hopefully it will still be ok with the butt bar on the bottom of the main shaft .

Assume we'll be able to order a longer spine shaft if indeed it becomes a prob (eg with 13' rods) I agree butt bar will need to be close the base however I prefer this anyway (usually use screw in Korum butt cups and storm poles)
