I've just heard that Terry Lampard passed away at 11pm last night.

Genuine angling legend, one of the best all-round anglers of all time and a hero of mine :(

RIP Terry

the specimen world will be in shock......r.i.p. terry.

Oh dear, that is indeed sad news. It is somehow always more shocking when the person is (in angling terms) a household name...and they don't come closer to being that than Terry Lampard.

Dave.

God what a shame. I didn't really know a great deal about him but weirdly, last night I watched a DVD he did with Martin Bowler on catching chub.

Very sad news, as you said John, a genuine angling legend and a great source of inspirition to me and many others. Condolences to his family and friends.

I really like that DVD and love his contribution to Catching the Impossible. Who can forget the 3lb Stour roach? He seemed like a really nice chap and was certainly an angling legend.

Sad news RIP.

Absolutely shocked to get this news today. A true legend of modern specimen hunting but more than that a genuinely open, helpful and thoroughly amusing bloke, so sad.

Condolences to his family and close friends.

A huge loss to the angling world. A true specimen hunter who really stood the test of time with unbelievable consistancy. Thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Just switched on what a shock.never met him but really really interested in everything he did.if it was good enough for him it was more than good enough for me.a great angler and for me gracious with it.what a loss.
Albert

One of the best, sadly missed and my utmost regards to his family.

Thats very sad news Terry was a lovely man, I met him a few times at Longham on the Stour. He was only 65. Rest in peace Terry.
