Rig shark tip lights.

There good a bit big I’ve gone back to ether isotopes or the breakaway tackle ones are the best battery ones imo

Anybody tried them yet ?I'm out tonight so will be giving mine a test run......I might even get a bite to see what they do.
Yeah. Opening night I unscrewed it to push the battery in and for some reason it just stayed green no matter how much I was swinging it about in my hand. Took it back out and in again and it started flashing. Mine are sensitive as hell. To the point where I noticed moths were setting it off without the tip moving. They are bright but with it aiming at you you only really see a small blob rather than the full inch or so of its length so it doesn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. I did have a pull first session out and it worked as it should. Iv had it flash when a tiny stick caught my line again without the tip moving. I think if the wind is strong enough it would get annoying as it would be flashing non stop but I’ll guess we’ll have to wait and see. Iv left my isotope on as well but you can’t see that with the brightness of these things

Iv just found out they last about 12 hours before dying as mine is dead lol. Good job I kept the isotope on
that dont make sense ? if they are genuine ones ? as the battery has a 160+hr Battery life ?

Used mine tonight,no barbel just chub. The lights are bright, but I like that, possibly yes they are too sensitive, but could possibly alert you to a sensitive bite you maybe would have missed otherwise???
If you can put up with the flashing I think they are quite good, mine seemed to only flash 2 or 3 times if I got a line bite or a gust off wind, can't comment on battery life as I only fished 2 hours into dark.I dint think they would be very good in really bad weather tho.

Iv just tried it again and it’s not lighting up green at all but does flash red really dull. Iv stuck it on charge to see what happens

I have a few old Lidl lights left from a few years back and have adapted the Drennan holder to take them they are imo better than Korums fiddly dooo dahs and cheaper than Drennan.

Update: charged it and it’s working fine again
thats the thing with rechargeables SOME OF THEM need to be recharged the day before you go as they go down if charged and stored

All them moths setting them off probably killed your batteries John🤣
Your a more patient man than me, I’d of whipped the bloody things off after afew moments. ISOTOPES RULE!!! 🤣
To be fair they didnt flash very often but each time they flashed the tip never moved. It’s only as I saw the silhouette of a moth next to it when it happened that I’m assuming it was the moths setting it off.

I charged them both when I brought them but have only used the one which died on me this weekend. Iv recharged that one but think I’ll try using the other one first to see how long that lasts to get an idea of whether or not that’s how long they actually last rather than the stated 160 hours or the one of them is faulty

mate ? you aint gonna get any idea like that ??
you need to charge them the day before going ONLY THEN !!!! will you get an accurate idea

as most rechargeables UNLESS STATED A DO NOT HAVE MUCH OF A SHELF ;LIFE AS THEY WILL GO DOWN A GREAT EVEN AFTER JUST A WEEK OR SO SOMETIMES

you need to remember these are tiny little batterys

I will get an idea cause if the other one lasts 160 hours then I’ll know the first was dodgy. If it lasts the same time then I know they’ll need charging more often. I’m not gonna mess about charging them for 8 hours every week if they don’t need it

Another little update. Out again with the other battery in but decided to use the other light as well although since Iv been thinking about it that could squiff the results of the battery life experiment but too late now. One thing I have noticed is that this light is no where near as sensitive as the other. While it’s not exactly been blowing a gale there’s been some decent gust’s enough to make the rod tip bounce and it hasn’t flashed once. Iv give it a little twitch of the line to test it and it takes a lot more than the other for it to flash. Just need a bite now to fully see it in action

Well the second battery lasted about as long as the first. I’m on the one I charged last week now so I’ll see how long that lasts. I’m just gonna keep one charged in my bag ready to swap over when needed. One thing Iv noticed is when they start dying they no longer glow green but if you get a bite they still flash red.
