I wouldn't have any doubts about the quality of the baits produced by Baitworks. They don't cut corners.I've thought about baitworks in the past. A bit to big and commercialised for me now though I thinkalthough it's still a possibility. The Atlantic heat sounds right up my street. But what are the actual levels of fishmeals in there? Not so sure if I trust these bigger companies.

. The liquids and other attractors are worth looking at , and my popups are in 2 sealed bags and a container , scent from hell

Baitworks are not a big out of touch company, they are a relatively small outfit that produce some quality baits. As he only sells direct to customers, not through shops the baits are competitive, and every batch , and iv had a few, are identical . He makes a point of the leakage and how the baits release the good stuff , and the breakdown

Sorry Mike, retro baits was the name of the company I was using for boilies. We all have our favourite ways of catching barbel, some people like to roll meat whilst some people like to fish static. Others like to use the older baits you mentioned and fish pins whilst others use fixed spools and prefer the boilie and pellet approach. Personally I don't think there's a right way or wrong way and as long as we do what makes us happy then that's the main thing. I prefer to use a boilie. I just think it's more of a nutritious meal for them and sort of feel like I'm giving something back to the barbel. It also helps me avoid other species I'm not targeting. I do occasionally use a worm, casters or meat myself though.

Seen them but never used them. They do seem a good company but there's a lot of options to pick from in the range. Makes me sort of think how come there not mixing all these ingredients together and making a smaller range of superior boilies instead of a list of ones with separate attractors.
Thanks Neil. A good friend of mine uses them for his Carp fishing. I'd say there a fairly big company though. Well known in the carp world and well advertised in magazines. I could possibly end up using them though. The Atlantic heat would be my choice.
Each to there own Connor .and as you say there is no right or wrong way . Barbel have very catholic tastes ,and if they are in the mood they will eat virtually anything , I think its more about what gives the angler confidence . I bought one of his one piece waterproof suits in the late 80s. It was a motorbiking waterproof...still had the original label in it, he didn't even re badge them.
