Aquestion and advice for you bait gurus out there, I am about to order some of the above from Haiths and wondered how much you would add to lets say four tins of riddled luncheon meat, just need an idea so i know how much to order.

Its a bit like powdered pimento peppers, use it as a dusting powder at around 1 tsp to two tins.

What i would like to know is what they took out of the mix that no longer causes the staining that Robin Red was famous for ! Was it a straightforward dye or was it an ingredient ? if it was an ingredient it seems to have had no ill effect, being it seems to me as good as it ever was.
I've got a flour sieve which i've used for years to boil my baits in, after hundreds of boilings, and washing in soapy water, it still has traces of the red stain ingrained into the plastic.
I had to replace the worktop in my kitchen becausde of it too ! my Mrs not being impressed with the red patches where i had been rolling my bait
