Are these sort of pellets good for loose feed? I've bought similar from my local independent tackle shop before rather than branded Halibut pellets. Obviously they smell completely different to Halibut pellets so I wasn't sure how effective they would be?

I don’t think 
the fishing brands actually make their own pellets? Maybe some have some made? But I suspect very few do, Just repackage what’s made by the aquaculture companies Skrettings and Coppens for example, for rearing fish? Halibut, salmon, sturgeon, etc that are mostly reared for eating And adding flavours to the surface of them to catch the angler? Lots of pellets don’t even contain much fish meals any more and are made up with various vegetable proteins with oil added I believe?
