New Drennan float rods

Thank FK for that, I thought I was being a wimp 😀.
No.
There is a calculation but I won’t bore you with that but basically your 10g at 1m length will be exaggerated around 10x that amount than if you were holding it against your chest.

It’s not that straight forward on a rod though as it’s distributed throughout the whole 4m plus length but yeah it’s definitely going to be noticeable

I don’t mind a bit of nose weight so long as it’s not drastic.
I like long rods and don’t know of a 15ft rod that isn’t a little nose heavy tbh. Comes with the added length.

For those that give a damn, here are the weights of my rods.

13' Acolyte Ultra - 146g
13' Acolyte Plus - 150g
13' Acolyte Specimen - 168g

15' Acolyte Ultra - 167g
15' Acolyte Plus - 167g
15' Acolyte Specimen - 187g

17' Acolyte Float - 198g

15' Freespirit Hi-S* - 179g
17' Freespirit Hi-S* - 216g

*Newer version
Having weighed the Acolyte specy 15 at 187g when I got it I knew the salter scales must be quite accurate.
Put both of my Spheres to the test and,
14 Match 161g/Browning catalogue 157g
13.6 spliced tip 160g/catalogue 150g.
Both mid and tip the same at 30 and 10
Butt on the ST being 1g lighter at 120g.

I can't say I remember the Sphere specs, but I do know the figures for my own. Having just checked the PDFs of the old catalogues, I've put the spec weights in brackets.

13'6" = 161g and 158g (150g)
15'6" = 182g and 182g (175g)
13' = 144g (149g)
14' = 161g (157g)
11'6" = 129g (127g)
