Tuck your other bits in your boots then SteveAnother vote for Muckboots. Other bits of me have been cold but never my feet when wearing Muckboots.
Muck boot quality has greatly declined imo, Im on my 5th pair and the lining on the heel wears out quite quickly now, I'll be looking at other options next time.
Skee text boots, had a pair back in the 70's /80's. The only thing anywhere close to the Muckboots for warmth, far too warm for anything other than Arctic weather in my opinion though.I'm well pleased with this thread...remembered I'd got a pair of Skee-Tex boots that I bought in the 80's. Only wore them once at end of season, then bagged them up. Just found them in a tea chest in garage, been there since I moved house ...will give them a whirl.
Oh well, eBay here they come (BTW...I always look ridiculous, so that's not a problem).Skee text boots, had a pair back in the 70's /80's. The only thing anywhere close to the Muckboots for warmth, far too warm for anything other than Arctic weather in my opinion though.
Seem to recall I gave up on them because:-
They were very uncomfortable for walking any distance in.
Too warm for normal temperatures.
Practically no grip.
The outers developed a split after a couple of years.
The liners wore out quite quickly.
Replacements were very expensive.
They look ridiculous.
They are good, but the sole has decided to come away on one boot, glued it with some specialist adhesive, but again we have the Far East quality issues.Another vote for Muckboots. Other bits of me have been cold but never my feet when wearing Muckboots.
