Luncheon Meat Prices

I get ine from Pound shop too, have a bag of bacon grill ready to go. The only negative is actually going in a pound shop.
 
to be trueful, i think us anglers buy more for fishing, than actualy people buy it for eating
just wonderwd how many tons a year goes into rivers
went to netto to get some meat, sold out, was told mr foran bought it all, lol
 
ah lisen to this, i worked down smoke 20 yrs ogo, went into this chippy, asked for steakpie and chips and gravy, guy behind counter said dont sell steak and kidney pies
only chicken and mushroom or mince and onion, ???? and dont do gravy
i said what chippy that dosent sell gravy, its f-------n joke shop mate, cost me £2.50
then, thick skin and tripple the price, anyway thought they fish jellied eals on hook ?????
anyway ray walton is the main supply of meat that all he uses, ?????
 
Still got several trays of Garlic Spam bought at no more than £1.49. I've also got a few tins of original Spam and black pepper Spam kicking around. Is that nice fella still knocking Garlic Spam out on Ebay for eyewatering prices?

Looks like there's a few more getting in on the act. Nice touch there too, spinning your dwindling supplies of Garlic Spam out by selling it with black pepper which is freely available in Morrisons.:D

By the same token, I once spent three days (which felt a very long time, I can tell you) in the Far North and even my locally born interpreter (a lovely gal) had to throw up her hands at on her own people.

As for the price of meat... Well, drop me a line, you chaps, and I might be able to help you with a very reasonably priced line in canned Southern Flyfisher (perfect filth, of course, but the Golden Beauties don't mind a bit).

If I am using luncheon meat . I all ways leave it in the fridge over night until I am ready to use it the next day . Then stick it in a small cool bag with a freezer block and I find that when I am ready to use it on the bank . It stays nice and firm and it dont fall of the hook :)
 
Different meats for different temperatures. Celebrity usually available from Morrisons is a good firm meat for those who can't keep it on. Put a short piece of grass stem in the bend of the hook to stop it pulling through.
2 tins of meat for £3 is plenty enough for a days rolling, and that's about the price of a pint of maggots. A cheap days bait.
 
Popped into my Local Netto(worse than poundland) today and purchased another tray of Garlic Spam. Booked myself in the Doc's tomorrow as i may have a problem with a slight addiction of never being able to walk past a tray of Garlic Spam without buying it.... i also like the taste as i rough it up with my teeth...

The Murco garage at Lydbrook (on the Wye) charge £3.79 for the half tin size!!
 
well that murco garage selling a tin of meat for that price, would be wrecked up north
for selling it, just goes to show how much people are willing to except that, ??????
