B&M store has a selection of makes for 89p, some would'nt make very good eating, but have served me well as bait.

Hey jim I buy mine from lidl
I Get a tray of 12 tins and they are about 110 per tin
And it's good meat,
They also do bacon grill for the same price

With Sam on this one.
Plumrose bacon grill, 99p at the pound shop.

PS, has anyone EVER bought something from the pound shop for a quid?
Everything seems to be 99p!

Too much time on my hands.

Regards,
Jeff

That Co-op meat is good stuff I reckon Jim, nice and peppery too. I bought some Plumrose from the One Stop Saturday, which I havn't used yet and some Extra Strong Cajum Spice from Morrisons yesterday... I am gonna aquaint the two.

So hold the Front Page Jim, I am ready to Rock n Roll:p

I'm with Sam, 99p Home Bargains, usually lots of different varieties including pepper and sometimes garlic.

See, yet again the cheapest meat is 'up tut north', up in the wilds beyond the reach of us civilised beings. I really must get some of that blue stuff you lot up there paint your bodies with and see if it frightens our shops down here into having decent prices....

:D

Cheers, Dave.

Spam's expensive because of the higher pork content, which is what makes it tougher.

I don't like plumrose/princes etc, its like butter and falls off the hook if you cast it any further than the margins.

The co-op stuff's as good as spam mind, and cheaper.

Rhys,
I use the plumrose chopped ham and pork all the time and never have a problem with it falling off the hook unless a barbel takes it lol.

Don't think I've tried the chopped ham and pork, but their luncheon meat is definitely pants.
I'll have to check it out.

Tis true Dave. I actually think the tide is turning, for consider;

Up in the North we have maintained the integrity of the £1 shop - none of this 99p southern nonsence! It's a quid - except christmas stuff which is now 50p.

Up in the North we still have a choice . . . .

Plain, Stinky French Garlic or Black Pepper Spam.

Black Pepper Spam is the absolute dogs bolx. It goes on toast aswell as it does on the hook and the barbel like it more than us northerners do. Shame you'll never get to try it until one of your southern bretheren buys a whole shipment and sells it back to you on e-bay for 5x the original price! :p
