Lidl garlic sausage

keep hearing people mentioning using 1/2 a tin as one bait!! 🤪 are you REALLY using baits that big??? I usually use a 1ā€ square piece on a hair or a 3/4ā€ punch to cut out a (round) piece about 1ā€ longā€¦ā€¦šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I normally use the 250 gram tins and get 3 pieces out of it. Sometimes I cut it other times I’ll tear it off. With the 200 gram tins of spam I’ll more than often just spit it down the middle and have 2 pieces

Honestly cannot believe you guys can sit there using this as bait without scoffing it yourself….think I would be ā€œone for the fish, two for meā€ šŸ˜‚
That was certainly me with the black pepper spam Alan. I’ve not even been tempted by garlic spam 🤣

Wow! I would never think of using such a lump! I’ll give it a go! šŸ‘

As I pointed out in the above linked thread, 99% of Barbel anglers will dismiss the big meat method, which suits me fine.

Having been put onto the method by a mate, and having read Lawrence’s original writings on the subject, I’ve spent a huge amount of time perfecting/tweaking it, to my own liking.

It’s my preferred method for catching Barbel on the Centrepin and it’s totally addictive!

You won’t bag up, but it does produce good sized Barbel šŸ‘šŸ¼

As Neil says you won’t bag up as the aim is to target the bigger fish but you’d be surprised how small some of the fish are you catch. Obviously if your baits been out a while and been getting pecked away at by the small fish it will eventually become small enough for small barbel to fit in their mouth but occasionally you’ll get a bite quickly and the only explanation is that it’s bit the meat exactly where the hook is. Normally though it will be a decent fish you catch

A 8lb fish scoffed the larger piece of meat after smaller samples were getting smashed by chub and not being able to have a bait in the water for sufficient time for the barbel to get to it first šŸ˜‰
