Keith Speer

Rip Keith some great words from fellow anglers shows the respect we all had for him as a angler and as a person.

Keith Speer, RIP

It tells one something about BfW, when following Mike Wilson's very sad announcement just after 9.20 this morning, that every member poster has expressed their own feelings with regard to Keith and All other messages on the forums have been left unattended for over 12 hours.

It speaks volumes for this community and how much respect is held for Keith.

RIP a true gentleman of angling, condolences to Keith's family.
Mike

Was absolutely staggered to read this, having just got home.
You always seemed so fit

Very sad news. Keith kindly gave a day of his time to give a few of us a float fishing tutorial, he came across as a really nice man. My condolences to his family.

Very sad news RIP Kieth

Very sad news indeed, my condolences go out to his family and friends. i enjoyed his writings immensely, came across as a very no nonsense kind of guy.

RIP Keith, a truly accomplished angler. I only spoke to Keith a couple of times whilst fishing the Ivel he was always happy to pass on tips that I still use in my angling today. My condolences go out to his family and friends

It reflects the kind of man Keith was reading through the various comments on the forums today. Like all that knew him, fished with him, socialised with him, I am saddened and shocked to hear this news. From the time I first met him about 12 years ago when he was emptying the Thames of its barbel with Mike Wilson, he made an impression on me as a very warm, generous man with a great sense of humour. Those personal attributes aside, he was of course a top draw angler.

Another good man gone...
God bless you mate.

Ian

Didn't know him. Knew he caught big barbel on light tackle and that takes skill.

Glad he left this place doing what he loved most. Perhaps a bench or plaque should be in order ?
