If you could only have......

I could never testify to having favorites as I've swapped and changed so much.
I could only give memorable mentions to a few.
Barbel: Korum Neoteric twin tip, Daiwa Powermesh (the older version) twin tip with the quiver, Harrison Chimera 1, Harrison Interceptor, BFW I Power, most of the older fox rods (special Duo Duo lite Kevlar Kevlex)
Float rods: Most Drennans (Stick Float Tench) never been a fan of the Acolyte ones with their tip snapping flaws, Insight 14ft, Older Daiwa rods (I've had loads).
Quiver rods mostly Drennan again use a Puddle chucker but the Fox Kevlar multi tip is a lovely rod.
Sorry to go off track but I swap as much as the wind changes.

3 rods, one for trotting, one for general barbel fishing and one for chub or smaller species what would they be?

I appreciate there are so many variables but for this purpose let's assume its a fairly small river, certainly nothing like the Thames or Trent or at least somehere you havent got to be chucking around 8oz+ of lead, in good summer conditions.
Now look what you started!😂

My current weapons of choice:
Trotting (large river) - Free Spirit Hi-S Power float 15ft
Barbel (legering) - Free Spirit, Spirit Gold 1.75lb TC
Chub (small river) Cadence Specimen 1lb TC

Shakespere Superteam LXL 12FT-16FT float rod, A two butt section rod so it can be fished at 12 or 16ft. Great for playing and landing big Chub on very light lines and small hooks fishing at distance.
Torrix 11ft 1.75lb, think this rod has the highest mentions on this thread a fantastic rod ideal for holding and touch ledgering or rolling.
Shakespere Sigma wand (the second edition), spent this Winter on a small local stream landing Barbel to double figures and Chub to 6lb 10oz loads of Bream, and some Tench etc on 3lb hooklength with the rod bent to the handle, not broken once.

Kev Baines 1.5lb 11’ Specialist No 1 - My fav Barbel rod.
Acolyte Plus float rod, will cover most things on the float.
Drennan Vertex 11’ Carp Feeder - Best Chub quiver rod that I’ve ever owned, it’s perfect! Sold my original Drennan Super Specialist Duo 1.25lb rod, after buying it and no I’m not p*ssed 😀

Hardy marksman 14’
Torrix 12’ 1.75 - 2.0 twin tip
Martin Bowler ‘Ouse barbel’ 12’ 1.5 tc.
If I had to choose just one it would be the latter ,… good chub and tench rod with a medium action,.. had some good barbel on it as well despite it being a budget rod.
Have to give an honourable mention to my old North Western Rodcraft 11’ feeder,.. super lightweight, sensitive with enough backbone to deal with any surprises.
