hooks again ! Korda Krank ?

I have recently been having problems with Korum Specialist hooks, points turning over after only a few casts. So looked for a new supplier. Now using wide gaped hooks from Banktackle.co.uk. so far very impressed.
I've had plenty of curved shank and wide gape hooks from Bank for a couple of seasons- absolutely no problems and very sensible money
Tungsten tubing is very good too if you use this in your rigs..
Used Kranks prior to finding Bank and also a great hook, very aggressive pattern and virtually nil hook pulls but being a tight-arse I couldn't resist saving a few quid as I am ruthless with hooks. So far so good.

Never seen a barbel with mouth damage and some of the waters I fish have a barbless rule..... seen lots of mouth damage to carp on commercial fisheries though

Maybe the fact that the Barbel are not in an enclosed lake being fished for 24 /7 days a week same fish getting caught god knows how many times a month may have something to do with it ? 🤔

Fished Collingham weir a few times and that place is fished 24/7 365 days a year never seen any mouth damage there either..... I like you Gerry come from a carp fishing background started carp fishing in 1979 up until 2009 so yes I have seen mouth damage... but never on a syndicate water ever the only place I have seen it is commercial,s and day ticket waters .. I think it’s more a case of educating people about handling fish and having balanced tackle... you know what carp fishing is like it’s like a bloody fashion show we’ve all seen carp anglers using 3 1/2 pound rods on small day ticket lakes... look at the latest carp fishing fad short rods 8/9/10ft 3.25 tc might as well use a bloody scaffold pole

sadly yes its miss handling including fish being dropped not wetting them down seen big carp caught in 30c and dumped onto a dry mat thats been in the sun all day and not a bucket of water in sight ! I could go on about tons of things but its depressing

Yes mate seen all those things... there are anglers and then there are people who go fishing (if that makes sense) the people who go fishing just need a bit of education

I remember you from the carpforum Gerry or now known as the “you must agree with ken Townley forum”
Now he is the eighth wonder of the world a man who made a career catching doubles from a reservoir in Cornwall
