I've messed about with superglue on hairs but if they're going on maggots and youre feeding them in quantity just stick 'em on the hook, either a 12 or a 10 and 3 - 5 maggots. I think you can worry about this all day long but doubt it makes any difference most of the time. In winter possibly a more refined approach but 3 on a 14 or 12 won't see the Barbel asking any questions, again, most of the time!
Just came across something on a preston innovations site re. Putting maggots 2 or more at a time into a bait band attached to a short hair as you would do when pellet fishing. Obviously the band size is critical but the way he did it ( Andy Power I think it was) really looked effective. Well worth a try I think
