Hook types...

Gripz are a great choice
I use the wide gape on mono, fluoro and braid and no issues whatsoever
If I scale down for maggots or castor ( 12, 14 or 16) Drennan wide gape also never straightened one ever or lost many fish and cheap to replace and easy to source
Cheers Paul.
Took to their website and their so called deal where if you order x amount get 5th free, so will see how they pan out. Opted for wides too👍

I use 12lb fluorocarbon with wide gape micro barbed hooks both from korda as my local tackle shop sells it,I do buy drennan specialist for smaller hooks thou..

I think it's hard to beat the mwgb hooks from guru for smaller baits - about half the price of some of the hooks mentioned here .
Brilliant hooks, especially in the smaller sizes. I landed my previous Barbel PB of 14.9 on a size 16 MWGB 😳
That said, I was actually fishing for Chub on the feeder at the time. If I am fishing for a 'Lump' I prefer the Korda Kaptor wide gape which can be found at bargain prices if you shop around ;)
