I couldn't go wrong on the Avon with the original elips . They were my go to confidence bait . Then the recipe and shape changed and they just did not give me the same results .
I then moved to cc Moore Pacific tuna and caught . Last season I went with mainline halibut and their big river barbel range . They caught me several fish and quickly so I believe they have pulling power . They also worked on the Severn .
The Elips hard hookers were rubbish as well and would split easily even with a fine bait needle . They had shell in them I noticed and it made them split .
Elops have now made a more boilie pellet type of hard hooker again and they are very good to put a needle through .
I have purchased a couple of kilos of elips and some oil etc ready for this season yo see if they compare to the Mainline range .
I love the mainline big river barbel liquid to dunk a mesh bag in . It is a black thick liquid that sends off a smashing scent trail .
It would be greasy to compare people's findings this season
