Has anyone got these rods and if so what are they like? Looking at this rod for Chub and Barbel on small to medium rivers and a bit of tench fishing.

Would they handle a double figure Barbel if one turned up?That’s what I use mine for and find them perfect for any 6lb line work on river or lake
This is what i have read as well. I believe that the 1.25 t.c butt section is on par with the 1.75 t.c and the 1.5 t.c is more of a softer through action rod.Have ai read somewhere that they are more like 1.5tc rods?
I've got these and they're brilliant for my Chub & perch fishing. Lovely blanks at 11ft.Has anyone got these rods and if so what are they like? Looking at this rod for Chub and Barbel on small to medium rivers and a bit of tench fishing.
On these rods, does that mean they feel a bit soft/floppy?12ft 1.25 torrix is a very tippy rod IMO. It has a sensitive tip and softish first 1/3, the butt is powerful, definitely stronger than the 1.5 version.
That's what I'm led to believe... The 1.25 is stronger in the butt sectionI gather that the 12' Torrix 1.25lb is a bit more powerful than the 12' 1.5lb version which has a softer more actioned butt section.
No, not floppy at all, tippy is what I would say. The rod is powerful in the mid to butt and I doubt not many chub can put bend it. I think this blank is very good for power float work.On these rods, does that mean they feel a bit soft/floppy?
I recently had a Korum Omega 1.25 that was meant to be fast action, whilst the tip and top end was soft, it made the rod feel quite floppy, certainly not what I was expecting. As a result I sold it without using it.
Could this be the same on the Torrix 1.25 rods?
I wish you didn't say that, sounds perfect and still makes me want one, well in 11ft anyway and I'm supposed to be buying the FS rod.No, not floppy at all, tippy is what I would say. Well, unfortunately or maybe fortunately, there is no 11ft 1.25 torrix, and even there is, the action will be different.I wish you didn't say that, sounds perfect and still makes me want one, well in 11ft anyway and I'm supposed to be buying the FS rod.
That's that easily fixed then!Well, unfortunately or maybe fortunately, there is no 11ft 1.25 torrix, and even there is, the action will be different.
I have a lovely green blanked 11ft version made by Mark Tunley years ago, I loved using it for my chub at close quarters, seven near to snags it handled them brilliantly. I've had chub but more bend in a rod than barbel on occasions. Lovely small water summer rodsThe Harrison Avon 1.25 tc rod is 11ft and has a surprisingly powerful butt section. I happily use them for Barbel on the Hampshire Avon in the summer when the River is low and delicate presentation is the order of the day.
Unfortunately Harrison no longer list the 11 foot 1.25 lb torrix on their website it looks like it’s discontinued or perhaps now only available as a special order. The Harrison Avon 1.25 tc rod is 11ft and has a surprisingly powerful butt section.
