Free fishing St. Pats, Loddon and Thames

Good news.
This event is registered with the National Fishing Month organisation.
The EA has waived the need for a rod licence for the open day, so if you are bringing a guest without a licence there is no need to buy one just to fish with us.

Sorry just seen this thread
On a more serious note. A friend used to belong to Twyford. He lapsed for one year and was told not to reapply as he was a previous(lapsed) member, Can he now reapply?

That's a new one on me.
Perhaps he was told not to use the 'existing member' application but to use the 'new member' application.
Very strange

Hi Colin
Your friend will be made very welcome if he wants to re-join as will you.
Dave D is quite right, he will need to use a new membership application and not his renewal form. His data will not be stored on the current list.
There is plenty of room for new members in our club, and membership will be available on Saturday.

Hi Colin,

To support the others, I am the Chairman of Twyford and am absolutely sure no one in the last few years would have told anyone not to reapply for membership.

If he wishes to email membership@tdfc.org.uk, I am sure Chris will sort him out and probably not charge a new member fee.

Yes please, count me in....found out last night that a previously organised family commitment has been cancelled so will be there.....:)
Sincere apologies to the organisers, intended coming but family got in the way!!

Well done Crooky, the cooking committee, Keith and Dave.
I think everyone enjoyed themselves with one non member having his PB barbel.
I'll let others pick up the story

Mike

Well done all those who put the day together. Thanks for the walk around, I really enjoyed walking along such a lovely stretch of water. Nice to see you again Ian and good to meet you Steve S and Dave W. I have a feeling we will be bumping into each other again soon.

Well, we had a great day. Thanks to all who attended and helped out and thanks to Andy for allowing us to post on here.
Keith was a big hit and his glamorous assistants Mike and Dave played their part too.
A big thanks goes out to so many people who helped on the day and during the build up. One lesson to be learnt is that don’t let the chef go home BEFORE the BBQ is cleaned. LOL. Thanks to number one son Rich and Junior coordinator Mark for standing behind the BBQ and preparing the food.
Our 'Heath Robinson' shelter and railway sleeper benches proved to be very popular.
We had in excess of 30 anglers with many more casual visitors who just came to look.
One angler caught a barbel in excess of 11lbs and Dave C caught one of about 5oz. The fisherman in Borough Marsh would have weighed in over 30lbs of chub, roach, dace and perch.

We will be having another open day in the future so watch this space.
Thanks again, Dave

Thanks to all the club officials who put this event on.
Great to meet some new faces and share a bit of banter with the usual suspects :D

Thanks for the open day, it was great to put a face to some names and catch up with old pals. Had a great day on lovely stretch, unfortunately no Barbel for myself or Matt, next time ;) oh and BBQ wasn't bad either. Thanks again.

Thanks to Ian and Dave
what a fabulous event well you got my membership that s for sure really well organised and though out and some cracking waters thanks to Steve and Ian for taking the time to walk with me around the venues once again thanks to all

A massive thanks to big Dave Johnson (Loddon Dreamer to those who remember the good old days :)) for his weeks and weeks of hard work pulling this together with the support of many T&DFC committee members and bailiffs and to Keith Speed and Dave Currell for giving up their time so freely again.

Also a huge thanks to all those who took the risk and turned up, joined in, enjoyed the day and the burgers :)

We will make this a regular thing each season now after the huge success of yesterday.

If anyone missed the day and wishes to have an escorted look over our waters, please do not hesitate to contact Dave Johnson, Ian Grant or I, we would be happy to arrange something at your convenience.

That would be nice crooky thank you...:D
