Fraser River Sturgeon

I enjoyed the liquid refreshment on offer in Key West, but all the tarpon fishing was with John Rawle from Islamorada. The biggest one I got to the boat was 'only' a ton too, but I lost some clonkers. Had 12 bites for 3 fish, and my boat partner had 7 bites for 4 fish over our three trips. His biggest was 175, and one of the other lads in our group had a 180. Boy do they pull!

Tim, I am really glad you had a good trip to the keys, gutted I couldn't come. So much fishing out there in the world and not enough time to get at it all. Catmaster on the Ebro are superb and come highly recommended for everyone.
If anyone is interested John Wilson could well be starting up his Nasser trips again, I believe he is there at the moment checking it out.

Sturgeon, Thailand, maybe one day!

Terry, yes, Wilson is on the lake fishing with African Tangler.

Tim, I also fished out of Islamorada but with Mark Byrnes. We headed straight off into the Backcountry and struggled a bit for the Tarpon (hooked three landed two) but had a field day with the sharks. Bulls and Lemons over 100lb give a pretty good account of themselves!

Key West is a bit of a special place eh! I had four nights `relaxing` there and crawled into bed as the sun was coming up on every one of them! I travelled alone on the trip so really appreciated the friendless of the Americans, never had a dull moment!

Should have hunted down a trip out from Key West but somehow never got round to it!

Head for Chilliwack in BC , Freds Fishing Adventures. Our skipper Dan was brilliant.
Fished where Frazer and Harrison rivers combine and as I recall a place called Mission.Son and I caught loads up to 25lb a few 80-100lb ers and a monging great 270lb er measuring 8 foot long which jumped nine times before we beached it,,epic stuff. Not cheap but once in a lifetime,,,,

Small baits but 14oz leads lobbed out back of boat which we were told is best and safest way to fish.(bears)
All catch and release ,after tagging.

The locals dismissed my biggun by telling me the story of an 18 footer that was hooked at one town and landed several hours and kilometers later in another.
No photos of couse

Yes Thats the place. Heard he has a good reputation as well Mark.
