Fox Specialist Brolly

Yeah, that's right Dave...it doesn't have 3 separate 'butt pockets'. Not sure if it's an old/original model or what. Not sure of their history.

I think its the new model Terry and they discontinued the old Super Specialist 3-rod quiver some time ago.

Definitely not the same quiver !! and some differences to yours Dave (although I did buy mine on your recommendation years ago) mine (old and newer) has TWO pockets side by side opoosite the rods

I do believe that I might have got one of the last and that was several months ago - I even rang the supplier beforehand to check if it was the old one and not the new.

Paul you are right about the two pockets but i cut all the stitching on mine to make it one pocket i just forgot i'd done it.

As I've not heard anything from you Nick I'll be returning it to Fishing Republic on Monday. I've now got another Korum quiver on order.

I use the fox specialist Brolly with an esp 3 rod quiver and it fits like a glove (that’s with 4 storm poles aswell) the zip at the side helps getting it to fit with ease.

NGT 3 rod quiver houses my Fox specialist brolly with room to spare in the main compartment, long pocket takes 3 long banksticks, but would comfortably take six, short pocket takes 4 short bank sticks plus my machete, and my landing net in either pocket, two made up rods in the outer butt pockets, plus my landing net handle in the 3rd, two webbing straps with plastic clips hold it all together neatly plus the velcro straps, my old wychwood was the same configuration, but i chose this one when the Wychwood wore out because i saw them advertised for less than 15 quid, they're as tough as old boots, and need to be with the treatment it gets from me !

Ian " machete " an essential piece of kit , or as I used to call them in the jungle a "Golok". Great for opening up overgrown banks or dissuading muggers in town centre swims............"Call that a Knife!"

Hi Ian / All
I have a fox specialist brolly which I brought 4 or 5 years ago which I don't use because it doesn't fit in my fox 3 rod evolution quiver! so have been following this thread to see what to buy, I was thinking of buying an Aqua roving quiver or the 4 rod version, but at £40 for something I won't use that often, I not sure if it worth it, but at £15 for the NGT quiver I think that a bargain if it fits and built to last
Are you sure it's a 3 rod version as I can only find a 4 rod version on ebay? Where did you get it from?

Oops sorry Wayne a typo ! yes it's a 4 rod quiver, i've got three rod on the brain cos of my old Wychwood that was a 3 rod, the rod butt pockets on the NGT are smaller, the quiver itself is pretty much the same size as my old Wychwood in all other respects, but the build quality 'feels' better. I think whilst it would take 4 made up rods as it was designed to do, it would be a bit of a squeeze espescially if reels of a larger type where fitted to the rods, but for what i use it for - carrying two rods and all my bits described above it's perfect, no more so than the Wychwood though, but as i said i think a better build, and a bit cheaper ! Edit .. and you get two bank stick pockets as opposed to the Wychwoods one ( not sure if Wychwood are still making that particular quiver though ).

Hi Wayne, my 4 rod Aqua is just perfect. The Fox Specialist Brolly fits fine in the main pocket. You can throw in your landing net pole and also a couple of extended bank sticks. Standard bank sticks in the smaller pocket. It's of a very simple design (which is cool, as so many quivers are over engineered) but, well made. It's perfect for me. :)
