Feeders

To be honest I don't lose many feeders, but the ones I do lose tend to be more the metal cage type with the cage coming away from the rest of the feeder and just leaving the boom and swivel attached. This is the best outcome really as I can then retrieve all the line and hook length. I do lose a few more hook lengths in flood water, but then this is the point of having a link at a lower b/s than the mainline. Every now and then in the more rock strewn rivers (Trent/Wharfe) I will just get cut off and lose the lot, rare that though, but depressing when it does happen :(

Last year I don't remember losing many feeders at all actually, maybe 2 or 3 which is good and also surprising considering my lack of knowledge on some of the stretches I was fishing!! 😅
I use these

I use these

Oh they're neat, I'll have to have some of those in the tackle box thanks Gerry ;)

I’ve had a crack at Gerrys perfect feeder
I thought the interchangeable link at either end idea was a great one for tidal rivers.

Agree - genius
I’m always a bit behind on these threads but a few people swear by larger paper clips as a cheap but effective weak link for feeders if coupled with typical barbel gear
It’s working party time and doubtless there will be a load of branches end up in the river over the next couple of weeks plus everything that’s been deposited or shifted by the winter floods
About the only time I use a deeper to try and spot any new snags

woo hoo the postman delivered a parcel today !!
Richard has produced a feeder for me as per my idea earlier in this thread and I must tell you the quality colour and finish is outstanding thank you so much Richard its perfect

your a top bloke a real credit to this wonderful forum

I've bought of Turbojohnboy11 and I recommend him as well ,bought feeders and nightlights ..
They do a job I’m sure but they ain’t brilliant imo. Uncoated lead slapped on the back of a coated cage.

user lee147 makes em 100 times better and more durable. They look fabulous and being set completely into the lead and coated together that’s going to be a strong durable feeder.

We sell these in the BFW shop 😉
ne every time to change it
They are different ones mate the ones in my post are ET15 SNAG SAFE LINK CLIP LARGE
the ones your showing are very good but you have to cut the line every time to change it with the ET15 you use a swivel clip and easy fast to change it

Ah yes - apologies Gerry, I didn't look closely enough.

I personally prefer the larger bore of the ring on the Snag Safe clips and prefer the original to the 'new' style.
