Facebook Marketplace

Watch out for scammers on Marketplace, they will offer to buy your goods via pay pal ,
but it’s a scam!! They tell you they have had to pay an extra £100 to your account because it needs to be a buissnes account .
They then ask you to refund them the overpaid £100 .
end result is you lose £100 .

Listening to an item on Radio 4 at the moment and it appears that a lot of scams are via Meta sites. That covers most of Social Media doesn't it? 🤔 I'm really "old school", I go into actual shops, look at the product and if I like it I buy it! Bit retro eh?!

Not at all retro... if you are happy to buy what is a.) in stock, b.) readily available to order or c.) happens to be there and second-hand.

On that basis I am all too happy to be retro if I can get what I need. However, in the case of the purchase that spawned this thread, it is a rod that is as rare as rocking horse droppings so retro and local has to take a back seat.

Yes, I get that 👍

Well the rod has arrived, well packed and the correct number of sections. That’s a relief. It seems in reasonably good condition- tiny bit of damage at the joint of the tip section but I’ve put it together and strung up with 8lb Sensor and given it a good yank- nothing cracked or creaked, so I’m happy overall.

Glad to know it went well, out of curiosity, what’s the rod?
