Drennan Super Specialist Barbel Hooks

Andrew, when you compare how many hooks you use in a season, 40/50p a hook, its nothing compared to what people pay for rods/reels/bait etc. Its the vital connection between you, and the fish of your dreams. Don't scrimp my friend, you know it makes sense. ;):D:)

I'm not scrimping the korum hooks are quality and as I said I haven't had any of the issues people are having with other more expensive hooks.

The only problem I have with my hooks is that they very rarely find themselves attached to a fish.... Or, if they do, it's the wrong species - last time it was a 10lb pike followed by an eel of perhaps 1.5lbs. Mind you, at least they didn't straighten out or go blunt!

i use Trevor west dtb hooks 6 & 8 great but size 10 are terrible they straighten out in a instance very disappointed with them in that size. Drennan continental boilie hooks are very strong use these a lot when i do a bit of carp fishing

I tend not to go down the one hook type fits all situations route, I'm quite happy using drennan feeder hooks for magggot in the winter on 6lb hook lengths on lighter rods, but I may go to the same river the next day cast tight to a tree and have bigger bait on with a size 8 drennan barbel on a 10lb hook length. I don't tend to go an heavier than that. I also use the korum hooks as mentioned and found them perfectly good.

Changed from sensor to hyper sensor this year and found less drag with the lower diameter but no compromise on strength.
