Drennan rod socks.

Like every thing that’s brilliant drennan have knocked these on the head and bought out a replacement that is nothing like them.

Anyone got some they would flog me or suggest an alternative that is similar
No plastic loops or draw strings no elastic straps just a neoprene set preferably snug fitting on slim rods with a Velcro flap.

I use these Rich - NGT butt/tip protectors, there not slim fit so may not suit you but there cheap and do the job
Shop around and you’ll find some good deals

I also usually use these NGT protectors but for added security for the rod tip I slide up inside them a used small (Actimel) yoghurt pot then slide the tip joint and top of the butt joint inside that and trap with the velcro flap.

Good idea!

I use the NGT ones too and they’re wide enough that I can fit all three sections of a twin tip rod in, which I find handy. Some other I’ve had have been too tight to be able to do this.

Way too bulky for float rods but cheers

I'm guessing you want the ones on the right in my photo?

I have two sets of the Specialist ones. I doubt that they've ever left the house. It was only a couple of weeks back that I got rid of the boxes they came in. I'm sure you could persuade me to part with them, especially if you can get hold of a couple of sets of the little Acolyte ones.

That’s the ones. I’d have Either if anyone has either to sell.
The acolyte ones while not as long still serve the same purpose and equally as good.

Just seen the bottom part of your message sorry.

I don’t have any acolyte ones to spare I’m afraid mate but if cash is good enough I’d happily buy them if they are of no use to you.
I’m not trying to cheap skate some either as I will happily pay the original price for them when new at £11 a set.

Not 100% sure where they are, but I definitely used to have a couple of sets of the ones you’re after. I’ll have a butchers tomorrow after work. If I can find them, you’re welcome to them.

Hi Rich - These are the droids your looking for . . .actually better than the Drennan equivalents IMO (tighter velcro strap) and good value if you look around . . .they even do a camo version now Rich which I'm sure you'll appreciate . . !!!

Do NOT be tempted by the Korda Tip Safe neoprene jobbies as they have a stitched 'two compartment' tip end limiting the way you can fold your rods . . .

I’ve got several of those but i wouldn’t let them near a float rod Chris. That plastic buckle you pass the tag through is way too close to my tiny tip guides.
Great for the barbel and specialist rods though

I have the NGT ones on all of my made up rods ready to go, either in quivers or loose on top of the barrow. I sometimes don't use a quiver if I'm using a barrow.
