I use the NGT ones too and they’re wide enough that I can fit all three sections of a twin tip rod in, which I find handy. Some other I’ve had have been too tight to be able to do this.
How to protect the unused tip of a twin tip was a concern to me particularly when the quivertip was unused. Leaving a tip protector on it seemed to be courting disaster and leaving it unprotected in a quiver an invitation to every branch on the bank. My solution was to cut up an old Diawa pole choosing the smallest diameter sections that would accommodate the largest tip. Cork in each end to secure it. Haven’t yet made a lightweight cloth cover to stop the tip rattling in the tube but will do.
