Daiwa 2.25 whisker barbel rod any good?

Had a look at one the other week looked an ok rod should last a long time but chose the Wychwood maximizer over it because of the choice of two different Avon tips.

infinity is the one
probably the best off the peg rod you can buy, just my opinion, nearly as good as the old powermesh's...lol

CRA and P imo...

Christ Steve, don't ask him that ! LOL
We could be here a LONG time !
Depends on what you are able/willing to !

Some people rate the Infinity's a better rod than a Torrix, saying that i have never had a rod from Daiwa that has been any less than good IMO

Ive got 3 Infinities..the original ones....to be honest i much prefer using them to the i-power i have, beautiful fish playing tools, if a little "springy" (stiff) in the tip,
Shop around for a deal..it would be worth it.....

Again with the rods lol...
Korum or
Drennan
Both are in the £80 to £120 bracket and are good solid tools. Both used to be twin tippers but there seems to be a trend for them to be just single tips now a days. Wychwood rods are more at the bargain end of the market from £40 upwards and wont let you down.
As for Daiwa the Infinity is about all I would buy from them but at over £150ish is quite expensive but still a very nice and very capable rod.
The Daiwa Whisker seems very cheaply made very much like a lot of Chinese **** you see.
Rods are an emotive subject with some and everyone has a different view on different makers but time and time again on here the same rods seem to come out on top Korum Neoteric (now Korum Precision), Drennen Power Barbel (Drennan Specialist Power Barbel), Daiwa Infinity, Wychwood Maximizer, all these rods that have a bigger test curve 2lb + and have a lot of recommendations

If I only had £50 to spend I'd buy a Wychwood Rogue. Cracking rods. If you've got more, then I think I'd go for the Neoteric. When you get over £150 then you can get pretty much anything...

Surprised to see that, I didn't realise Korum had stopped doing the Neoteric. The Precision Specialist seems to be £20 cheaper but is either 1.75 or 2lb, not a twin tip. Shame, it was a good rod. I just hope the new one is as good.

The twin tip's are still available but I think the Precision has replaced it long term maybe Chris Ponsford would know. I think he's involved with Korum.

its so ya have to buy 2 rods same as drennan n they only drop 20 quid in price,ie: power barbel 2 tips.....149.99......1 tip......129.99......nuff said.....i rest my case.

Clive K,
Absolutely mate ! They have cottoned on to something ! But then, if it were your business what would you do ?
Not saying it's right, but that's life.............
If you were to spend that kind of dosh on 2 rods you may as well get a custom made twin tip !
I can vouch for the original Drennans, but if you've used an I-Power, you will realise the difference ! Class come through...........

Regards Paul M.

if it were my buissness there would never have been any twin tip rods in the first place only single tip rods and they would have been 149.99......im a tight git......lol
mr. sugar....im over here !!!!!!!!

Make them buy one and a half rods instead of just the original one they THOUGH they wanted, and make them feel you are doing them a favour by doing so.

Overcharging for one rod will make them feel agrieved, and damage the brand reputation for value for money. Outcome? Lack of marketing awareness...your fired....:D

Cheers, Dave.
